The body was brought in for another round of high-build primer. We like the FBS Pro Mask paper system for this, as the tape is pre-applied and it has a built-in cutting edge.

After the primer was cured, the car was reverse-masked and the jambs were primed.

Color and clear were applied to the jambs, and the car was un-masked for preparation of the outside panels for color.

The exterior panels were all reinstalled on the car and aligned for exterior color.

The fender flares and extensions were all prepped as well. These required a flexible additive to prevent the primer and paint from cracking later.

The body was brought back into the paint booth and masked for the House of Kolor kandy paint scheme.

The color appears to be light in the beginning, but additional coats darken the color and add the deep flake appearance.

After the desired color is achieved, the clear is applied and the color comes to life!

The car was put out in the sun to help the clear cure and outgas. The color really pops when the sun shines!

After a few days, the crew jumped back on the car to start the wetsand and buff process. Any isolated dust particles or rough spots are sanded with 800 grit, then the whole car is sanded with the 3M Trizact process of 1000, 1200, 1500, 3000, and 5000 grit wet paper on a D/A sander and by block.

Here, ½ of the hood has been polished with compound.

Panel by panel the entire car is polished.
