The problem is that it was NOT a classic car insurance company, just a general auto insurance company. They really argued with us throughout the whole process.

Many of the Trans Ams parts were repaired off the car. The crew used flexible fillers and materials where needed, as on the flexible front bumper cover. Some of these items displayed cracks under the paint when the car arrived in our shop.

After the parts were straightened, they were sprayed with a black guide coat over primer and sanded smooth.

The Trans Am's body was pulled straight on the frame rack and then bodywork began.

The car was very straight, but we still needed to apply filler to smooth the surface. The crew used Evercoat Quantum1 body filler because of its corrosion resistance when applied over exposed bare steel.

The bolt-on pieces, such as the nose and rear spoilers, were installed periodically and checked for fit.

The crew spent some time reshaping the rear spoilers to better fit the car and with each other.

Fiberglass was used as well as filler to subtly reshape the profile of the spoilers.

The hood gaps were also refined to be more precise.

Black 3M powdered guide coat was used during the sanding process to ensure the panels were straight. This would all be sanded off, revealing high and low spots.

After this process, the car was rolled into the paint booth, placed on jackstands, cleaned, and masked in preparation for a coat of sprayable polyester filler.

The crew sprayed Evercoat Super Build 4:1 sprayable polyester filler for the next step. The polyester is applied to fill any sanding scratches left behind during the body filler process. Because it is sprayed on and not next and smeared with a spreader, there is no risk of having pinholes in the application. After the application, aerosol black guide coat was sprayed over the entire car in preparation for the next round of sanding.
