Going the the 'Cruise' at Skyview Drive in in Belleville Illinois this Thursday night 8/27/15 and as I was buying a ticket happened on to the website and this forum.....

Though I have no 'old' V8 Muscle, there are new ones in my 'stable.

2014 GTHG Mustang Gt 'vert with mods and a '95 Ranger with a blown 5.0 in it.....'blown' meaning Vortech S Trim... :P

I've had over 80 cars trucks and motorcycles through the years and I loved them all!

Raced a bit in both cars and motorcycles. Managed an auto parts store a long time ago and we sponsored several local racers as well.

Site looks to be a bit slow as there is a LOT of competition these days but I ditched cable and satellite TV and am very grateful for OTR automobile shows! :woohoo:

Welcome aboard! That Ranger sounds like a handful… Or two! How does it run?

Well, I'd tell you if it ever got finished!

Putting Corbeau Toplines in it. Heated. Cooled. Power tilt, etc.....and I HATE wiring!

Last winter I moved the radiator to the front of the shroud and yes, it still has AC.....what a biatch!

Always had cooling probs but it now has a V6 Taurus fan. Controlled by a BMW sender and Volvo replay as it is 2spd.

I work about 50+ hours a week and have a life....kinda...sorta.... :side:

I know the feeling. Sounds like you've got some cool part selections, tell me more about the BMW sender. Is it a thermostatic switch?

As you may know the V6 Taurus fan moves a LOT of air and is well thought of for those stuffing big motors into little bays. It is a 2 speed fan. Draws a lot of amps.

There are all kinds of aftermarket controllers available and a lot of discussion on what is best. IMHO if one can use an OEM part for an application do it. Most OEM parts are over engineered and last the life of the vehicle.

The BMW sender has 3 wires and available in 2 temp ranges. It has 14MM threads so most of us already have a 'tap.' I used a spark plug thread chaser to thread the boss on the thermostat housing.

Then to the Volvo relay and to the fan. Easy to wire and looks OEM.

We use a lot of OE parts in our builds. We're going to be shooting an install of a Derale PWM fan controller soon, OE design with more ease of install. It's cool because it's programmable, and ramps-up the fan speed to ease the hit on the electrical system when the fans kick on.
