Wow, what a site. I can't believe that a shop that does the kind of work they do shares "How-tos" and in shop progress on cars/trucks they build. I called the shop and spoke to Kevin, who was very receptive and spoke with me for what I felt was an extended amount of time, he gave me ideas and sent me links to different ideas and suggestions. Really appreciate that.

Anyways, I'm from Elizabethtown, Ky. home of "Cruisin' the Heartland", if you are close you need to come check it out July 29th and 30th.

I'm building a 1964 Galaxie XL. I won't talk about it much here because I would just be repeating myself. I've been going through the Readers Rides. some very cool stuff and I hope I can add to it.

I also do some custom painting on the side. More of a hobby but some times I do make some money to put towards my project. I thought I would share some pics. I painted this Sonoma about 7 yrs ago then last year he tubbed it and put a 373 stroker in. Well the 2" cowl hood wouldn't fit anymore so....I painted this bowtie to simulate chrome and put the fire around it.

This is a drag bike I did. I welded in the flush mount bung, painted the base with Ford tuxedo black, did kind of a scallop design in silver and outlined in a bright red, then covered the whole thing in candy red to give it a nice deep Black Cherry.

One more for now. I did this this cover and fender for a V-Rod. Tried to do the chrome effect with the letters again but it looks much better in person than in these pictures.

Outstanding work! You've got some real talent! Thanks for sharing the pics, we're always interested in seeing cool stuff like this. Would you care to share some of the materials you use, like the kind of paints, tapes, etc? Very cool stuff!

Kevin, don't mind sharing at all. Could be kind of long and I don't know exactly what info you want but I'll try and if there are any ?s I'll answer as they come. I started off using Dupont but after awhile I didn't like the coverage. Tried PPG and liked it very much but the reducer goes bad before I could use it and it is very expensive. I became friends with the owner of a paint supply house and he carried Shermin Williams. Really love the Ultra 7000 line. They have since changed over to BASF and it is taking getting used to. No one close carries the SW line. I know some will probably cringe at this but I have a little Utra and a little BASF and I mix and match them when I air brush, I just always use the same high quality reducer. Tape, I use all 3M. I cheat on the pinstriping, I tape them off and airbrush them in, I'm not steady enough.
