We perform lots of metal repairs on Muscle Cars, and today, fabricator Adam Schulte gives us a tour of a '67 Camaro RS he is working on in the shop. Tasks included installing Detroit Speed Mini Tubs, Classic Industries quarter panels and roof skin, and other sheet metal repairs. Contact the shop today to discuss your restoration project!
Racers have been punching holes in panels to reduce weight for years, and when you punch a flared hole, you actually add strength while reducing weight. In this short video, we show you how to punch flat and flared holes using a flared hole punch set from Mittler Brothers (http://www.mittlerbros.com) to create these holes quickly and easily.
DETROIT – The all-new 2015 Corvette Z06 is the most powerful production car ever from General Motors and one of a few production cars available in the United States that delivers more than 600 horsepower.
The Z06’s LT4 supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine is SAE-certified at 650 horsepower (485 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque (881 Nm) at 3,600 rpm.
“The LT4 Small Block sets a new benchmark for power and torque at GM,” said Steve Kiefer, vice president, GM Powertrain Engineering. “The engine also puts the new Corvette Z06 on par with the most powerful supercars offered in America, while delivering performance with impeccable manners that make it suitable for daily driving.”
Manual transmission swaps into Muscle Cars are extremely popular, and many companies make retro-fit kits allowing a late-model 5 or 6-speed manual to be installed in the factory position in older cars. However, just because a shifter fits the car does not mean it fits the driver! Twist Machine came up with their Billet Adjustable Shifter Handle that allows you to place the shifter in any of 7 positions, guaranteeing you'll find a neutral, comfortable spot to match your reach and driving habits. You remember how much you like your tilt steering column? This shifter will help in the same way. You will be a better driver because of it.
We're not happy about this one either...

This 1966 Chevelle came to our shop to have some maintenance and a few cosmetic fixes. The distributor in the big block Chevy V8 had corroded, so we shipped it back to MSD Ignition for a freshen-up. There was some weirdness in the steering column, so we had it waranteed by Ididit to like-new operation again. We also made a new electric fuel pump mounting bracket and addressed some leaks and some new brakes.
Outside, the '66 rolled in with a 4" cowl induciton hood that made it a little hard to see the road, so our crew installed a steel 2" version for more style and less "race" appearance. The color is House of Kolor TruBlue Kandy and it really looks sharp in the sun.
