Dakota Digital SEMA 2015

As cars become more sophisticated, so do the electronics that make them run. This year, Dakota Digital showed us a smart new way to add cruise control to an GM LS drive-by-wire throttle system as installed into a classic or muscle car. They also demonstrated their intelligent Vintage Air controllers designed to maintain precise control of Gen IV A/C systems. These are all very cool ways to add modern-car features to your resto-mod! Presented by ARP.

The V8 Speed & Resto Shop Crew wishes to thank Hot Rod Magazine for including our shop in their 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour coverage!    The 2015 Tour rolled past our shop on June 9, and we all had a great time seeing the cars and helping out a few fellow Hot Rodders in need.      The video below tells the story of the day the Power Tour came to town!

2015 Car Craft Summer Nationals

The 1969 Camaro "ZR9 " was an invited guest at the 2015 Car Craft Magazine Summer Nationals in Milwaukee, WI.    The car was on display in the Pro Builders Shootout area, and the crowds really ejnoyed seeing the car in person.     This gallery attempts to capture some of the thousands of cars on hand in this inagural Milwaukee location.   The Car Craft Summer Nationals is a great event, complete with the car show, as well as an autocross for participants.

We recently hosted a special V8TV 10th Anniversary Drive-In Cruise which included a car show, a special episode of V8TV, awesome prize giveaways, and a showing of the original Smokey And The Bandit on the 105-foot Skyview Drive-In screen in Belleville, Illinois!     Hundreds of cool cars came to the show, and it seemed everyone had a great time.     Here's the video from the event.

V8TV 10th Anniversary Drive-In Cruise

The V8TV 10th Anniversary Drive-In Cruise Presented by HTP America, Inc. was a huge success, and we're all very thankful to everyone who came out and made the event such a fun time for everyone.    We hosted a car show, gave away some fantastic prizes, showed a special V8TV 10th Anniversary feature on the big scree, then capped off the night with a showing of Smokey And The Bandit!

We checked out a cool cruise in Collinsville, IL, that featured cars from a variety of genres.   There were several clubs represented, along with a DJ spinning smooth grooves.    Check out the 1970 Rambler Rebel SST factory 4-speed!   Photos by Trevor Spence.

V8TV Coverage from the Street Machine Nationals

If you are a fan of Pro Street cars, the Street Machine Nationals in DuQuoin, Illinois, is the place for you.    Once again, some of the legendary cars came out for the Heros of Pro Street display, where back-halved chassis, giant engines, steamroller rubber, and wild colors rule the streets.    We spoke with Tony Netzel about his fresh twin-turbo '61 Plymouth and Gary Buckles who brought out his famous blue Camaro to the event.     http://www.streetmachinenationals.net

We had the opportunity to hang out with Chip Foose in the MagnaFlow display, and he brought us up to speed on some new projects.. including a Bugatti?   Cool stuff.
