We had our 1965 Chevelle SS frame media blasted and stripped clean, and then it was time to give it a new protective coating. This time, we utilized the new Extreme Chassis Black Epoxy paint from Eastwood. We found it to have an accurate satin appearance, and it seems to have the guts to stand up to the road.

We took the chassis from the '65 Chevelle SS parts car and blew it apart for a trip to the media blaster. V8TV shop assistant Nick Doerr took some initiative to remove the front springs with a plasma torch... while we would never recommend that anyone do this, it works...

So what do you do when you can't get the alignment right on your GM "A" body musclecar? If your new tires tip inward at the top even with no alignment shims, perhaps you need to get some offset upper control arm shafts like these from Global West.

Kelle's 1954 Chevy pickup truck project is finished... for now, anyway! The final details were all tied up and it's been on the road for a couple weeks. Kelle loves it, and it's doing a great job of hauling our stuff around. We say it's finished "for now"... everyone knows these projects are never completely finished, but Kelle's going to drive this one around for a while before the next upgrades are considered. Come along for a cruise in the "3 on the tree" 6-cylinder race truck!

The moment we've all been waiting for... the first drive in Kelle's '54 Chevy Truck! The 235 6-cylinder sprang to life, and the only elements we forgot to change from 6 to 12 volts were the headlights. They didn't last long!

Kelle made a few upgrades to the outside of the '54 Chevy pickup... some new running boards, bumpers, and lights. During the process, she found a late-model hitch that fit, and Randy found a cool way to jazz up the old tailgate!

Kelle's '54 Chevy Truck is now getting some attention inside the cab. This time, she goes over the new floors made from scrap steel and painted with lo-buck paint, the 12 volt electric windshield wiper motor conversion from Classic Parts that no longer needs engine vacuum, and the topper... the Mexican blanket upholstery job! Wear your shades for this one!

Kelle's truck is in the home stretch, and this time Randy worked on replacing the rusty cab corners. The first attempt was to use some scrap steel to make some new corners, but the crew soon realized it would be easier - and much cheaper - to flip open the Classic Parts catalog and buy a new set. Here's how that install went.

Our 1965 Chevelle has a 10-bolt rear axle, and while preparing the housing for some detailing and upgrades, we show you how to remove "c" clip-style axles. This is handy if you're changing gears, differentials, or upgrading to disc brakes. It's a pretty simple trick.

Media blasting removes all the old paint and rust, and also most of the original seam sealer. After we picked out the remaining old caulk, Randy masked the bottom of the S71 and brushed in a 3M body seam sealer to reseal the panels.
