 New ClubSport Package Shaves Pounds to Shave Seconds off Lap Times
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Katech Performance, ever attuned to the collective conscious of the Corvette universe, knew this - enthusiasts wanted a lighter weight Z06 tuned for the track. Now they have it.
The Corvette Z06 ClubSport package - available exclusively from Katech Performance and Les Stanford Chevrolet (Dearborn, Mich.) - incorporates an array of aftermarket products that, in unison, reduce curb weight to 2,915 lbs. (2,825 lbs. fully optimized) while improving grip, cornering, braking and downforce.
"The Z06 is already wonderfully light weight," commented Jason Harding, performance parts sales, Katech Performance. "We knew, however, that we could improve the power-to-weight ratio with several select modifications. Lamborghini has its Gallardo Superleggera, Ferrari its F430 Scuderia and Dodge its Viper ACR. Now the Corvette Z06 has the ClubSport package from Katech Performance."

Motors today released photos of the production version of its electric
car, the Chevrolet Volt. The vehicle was first introduced at the North
American International Auto Show in 2007 and is an important element of
General Motors' plan to develop a full-range of gas-friendly to
gas-free vehicles. Available video includes product shots and running
footage of Chevrolet Volt and available stills include production shots.

 This '69 Camaro convertible looks unassuming enough, but don't let it fool you. Underneath that shiny blue paint hides all the latest pro-touring tricks, from the Detroit Speed & Engineering subframe to the GM LS7 V8 engine. Owner Matt Gober tells us that G-Force Design Concepts built this car with the goal of blending a stock appearance with killer street and track performance, and it looks like they've succeeded.  So you want the strength of boxed and reinforced suspension parts but don't have the reinforced wallet to make it happen with trick new parts? Or maybe your particular ride does not have an aftermarket beefed-up control arm available. Here's the solution: Box up your stock control arms! Here, we sourced a pair of original GM lower control arms from our '65 Chevelle project. That car got new stuff, so we grabbed the extras, which happen to fit our 1968 Buick Riviera project. Which, by the way, is one of those cars that has very little in the aftermarket as far as parts are concerned, so we were happy to find that we could make Chevelle parts fit. Follow along as we media blast, then weld up our control arms for extra-strength. And although we didn't show it, they'll get new bushings someday as well.
