Ruby is a cobbled together 49 1/2 ton. The PO put on a bedside spare tire carrier that did not hit the market till 53, I believe. I'm not sure if the rear gravel pan is a factory piece or not. The front wheels are reverse smoothies with small crome caps. The rear wheels are OEM with a larger cap that makes em look bigger than the front. (they are the same size) I like the original look with modern upgrades to keep it safe. I installed 3 point seat belts, dual reservior master cylinder and front disc brakes. She even has an T-5 five speed transmission that enabels her to hit highway speeds. The engine is a 235 bored to .030, pertronix igniton, hot cam, fenton headers, dual carb Edmund's intake with a set of Carter 1 bbls. I have been working on this truck (when time permits) for nearly 4 years now and I have to say it never gets boring. It keeps me out of trouble too. I grin from ear to ear when I see your blogs as I it brings back a lot of memories. I had a 54 before this 49. I like the grills and gauges of the 54s. Here are some more pics of the 49 build up.
