Hi everyone, I'm SMB. I was drawn to this site because of the 1969 SS Chevelle. I am doing a frame off of a 1969 SS Chevelle. The main difference is that I ordered the car new my senior year in high school in March 1969 and have kept it all these years. The car was built in Atlanta at the Lakewood assembly plant and was delivered to Timmer's Chevrolet in Atlanta in Feb. of that year. All of this took place within 5 miles of where I grew up. I just happened to be at the dealership when the truck arrived with my Lemans Blue SS parked over the cab. I hung around the dealership service department all day as it was prepped for me, then picked my Dad
up from work in his '64 VW, so that he could help me get my new SS home. I just happened to be out of school on a spring break. I was 17 so Dad had to sign for it, but I had saved up the $3600.00 over a period of five years through odd jobs, cutting a lot of grass and the profit gained from having just sold a 1949 Chevy "Woody"that I had restored (my first car) the previous summer. To say the least, this SS will always be special to me and this completed project will be a major milestone of my life. I am 56 now and hope to have it running for my '09, 40th year class reunion. I plan on driving it back to my reunion with some of my buddies that used to cruze with me back then. Our wives will follow us in the SUV, if they can keep up. Thanks to V8TV for the inspirational videos!

Hey all, I'm Mike aka Qball. I discovered this great site from Performance Years Forums. I really dig the project videos. Here's a few pics of my '67 GTO my dad is passing along to me. It's a 400 auto car with factory air and air shocks. My dad's owned it for the last 16 years. It's been painted and gone through @ 12 years ago and is beginning to show some age in the form of small rust bubbles under the paint in the usual spots like the sail panels. But it's a great driver and is very straight. I can't wait for nice weather so I can put it throught its paces!

Very nice GTO! I like the color. Sounds like you're going to have this one out where it belongs... ON THE ROAD!

Hey Donny -
Welcome to V8TV! That Cougar will certainly be a tire fryer when you get it together!

I had my GTO delivered a couple of weeks ago. This weather is killing me! Here's a short walk around video of it.

Looks good, Mike! I bet you're going nuts waiting for good weather to go drive your GTO. I grew up in the Chicago area.. I remember it well. Your car sounds really good... what exhaust are you running?

This is Rich Crisler of DCX Conversions International Co., Ltd Of Kobe, Japan.
I'm from Denver Colorado and lived here for 8 1/2 years. I was invited here after building a car for a client here to build F3, F4, F3000 Fomulia Nippon, D1, and track day cars but got into more once I got here and started to export and build more then just chassis.
I'm here for any tech info and any ? anyone might have on spec's or mods that you want to do on JDM cars. I can also as a JDM pro and exporter to the world get any one anything built in Japan from old to new even if we have to build it in house as a one off.
Thanks for having me Kevin and Kelle.
When I said I have been doing this for a long time. I started building indy karts when I was about 7 and learned how to weld and form tube. When my perants told an uncle while we were at his home that I was more then just good at mechanics for a 7 year old and as a joke (OR SO HE THOUGHT) he told me well go change the axle on my 65 Corvair so I went over took a look at the part and started to asses the work 2 1/2 hours later to his and most everyone around at the time I got it done and not just done but done right. I was 8 years old I'm 35 now and at 16 I opened my first shop. So as I said 28 years building customz.
This is the real pic of me at 8 fixing it.
And this was the part I changed.

Thanks, Kevin. I have no idea what exhaust it is. My dad had it installed @ 12 years ago. One of the mufflers is pretty bloated like a bad backfire blew it up. And, yes, I am jonesing for good weather! We just had a few days of sunshine and relatively warm temps that got the streets cleared so I took her out for a quick spin.
The more I go through this car, the more things I find that I want to change/fix/replace. Welcome to the sickness!!

Hello All.
I'm Bill. I live in Port Chester, NY.
I don't have a muscle car, but am thinking of getting one some day. I like this site, and the videos. I like the sleeper concept. I'm a computer consultant, and definitely into EFI and DIS. Is there any EFI on this site? How about trying out this
http://www.retrotekspeed.com/products/powerjection-1/powerjection-1-system/powerjection-1-system.html
For cars I'm a Mopar guy. Kevin, where are the Hemi's
??
I drive an econobox for day to day stuff. My need for speed is currently provided by a '94 Yamaha V-Max, with a few modifications. Most cars don't have a prayer. But I'll give you an 1/8th mile head start..heh heh heh....

KO,
Thanks for the info.
I'll check out the EFI links. But have you looked at the Retrotek Speed Power Injection products? Go here:
http://tinyurl.com/388nb2
They look like a Holley. The camouflage will fool all but the most discerning. I'd love for you guys to set one up.
My Hemi question was in regards to you guys doing a project car on the show. Perhaps take an old dart and give it the Hemi treatment. Or perhaps another affordable Chrysler like a '73-'74 challenger.
As I am computer geek I thought I give you this tip. Instead of cutting and pasting long, ugly URL's into your messages go to
http://www.tinyurl.com
and get them shortened to 25 characters. Makes reading easier.
Stay out of trouble...
-Bill.

Hello everyone, my name is Scott. I just joined here so this is my first post. I currently don't have a car but I'm into the type of cars shown on V8TV. I'm also a really big fan of Fastest Street Car type drag racing and I try to follow it regularly. I'm a big fan of Outlaw 10.5 and thats the class I pay most attention to. Anyways, thanks for your time. To Kevin and crew on V8TV, keep up the good work!
