So we've been building alot of GM cars around here recently, and I'd like to throw our wrenches at a Ford for a change.    I'm thinking a '65 - '70 Mustang.    What would you like to see, or maybe you have one that you'd like us to build?

I have a '65 coupe that I'm starting to build. Everyone does the 67-68 "Eleanor" builds, I'd like to see something different with the early coupes.

mkelly has a good point.  How about a sweet '75 Mustang II  Cheesy  Just kidding.  I think a '65 Boss 302 build would be cool.

Interesting concept.     I was thinking a trans-am style or pro-touring style street / track car.    I am not really interested in another Eleanor.

What a great car to put back on the track. He looks like a guy that has some fun with it too.

One of the coolest Mustangs I've ever read about was a 1968 hardtop that was equipped with a fuel-injected 428CJ, 4-wheel disc brakes, and INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION, built by Carroll Shelby.  It was called the EXP 500 / The Green Hornet.

I'm not sure if there are any current-day kit options for doing a solid-rear axle to IRS swap on old Mustangs, but if there is, it would be one of the most interesting and exciting Mustang builds ever performed.  There's always custom fabrication...  The EXP 500's IRS was bolted to the leaf spring perches somehow.

I read about it in the August 2006 Hemmings Muscle Machines.  Here's the link: http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/2006/09/01/hmn_feature1.html

I know you guys like to build pro touring cars, and building an IRS-equipped Mustang would be one of the greatest expressions of the pro touring ethos.

How about a 64 Ford Falcon? Cool little cars that can be picked up for a song. I am supposed to be looking at one this spring. I think parts out of a low buck Fox body Mustang would make it a sweet ride with a lot of giddy up

I have always wanted to do a '65 or '66 Mustang with full OEM body lines and outward appearance, but completely modernized with a late-model 5.0 drivetrain, new rack & pinion steering setup, performance suspension, upgraded braking and some creature comforts (audio, A/C, power windows and locks, etc.).  That would make a sweet cruiser with classic looks and modern mechanics.  My wife insists it be a ragtop, so I have been looking around for a great buy on a convertible shell that I can start with.  Wouldn't that be a fun project for V8TV?
