Splitter is a 1970 Pontiac Trans Am being built with a split personality - it's got to be dragstrip quick and have road-course stick.   Follow the build here on the forums, and check out all the video on Splitter's main page by clicking on the pic below!

It made 630 ft lbs @ 4k and peaked at 690 @ 5700.   Flipp'n sweet!  I'm gonna need a tire sponsor.

Hey - this would be a fun car for the Run Through The Hills event next year - it's a drive on public highways, an autocross, and a drag strip... your car is made for it!

After seeing the footage, I'm in.  To see everyone beating on their cars sent chills through my body!  Looks like guys had a blast.  My type of people, go out and beat on your car.

We're actually shooting more on this car today!     We're going to be posting the engine install, trans install, Gear Vendor unit install, and taking it for a drive beginning next week!   Stay tuned!

Car weighs 3992 minus the Fogger kit and bottle, with a 1/4 tank of fuel, race ready.  53.1% front 46.9% rear.  Left side is 51.3% and right side 48.7%  Car with out me in it is 3739.

 I noticed in the latest update on Splitter the awsome exhaust system. Is that a kit or was it built custom???

Technically it's a kit.  I was going to order the oval tubing from Dr. Gas or Spintech, but it was going to be almost twice the cost over the kit from Ram Air Restoration.  I ended up ordering their 3.5" kit, and two 90 degree bends to go over the rear end for my tail pipes.  In the video the tail pipes were not on it yet, I've just finished them up in my garage with regular 3.5" round tube.  The kit from Ram Air Restoration has the X, collectors that go from standard 3.5 inch round to oval, then everything to the muffler.  You can also order the complete kit with tail pipes, but since I've added the mini tubs, watts link, 20 gal Fuel Safe fuel cell, and relocated shocks, I didn't want to take a chance on them not fitting.  I've had the oval tubing from Dr. Gas or Spintech on previous cars, and it is a thicker tubing than what Ram Air sells.  Once you paint with a high heat temp paint or coatings, it'll last forever and weigh less.

Splitter takes to the streets!    This is an early drive through the country... Brett had the car at the track on the last day of the '07 season and it went mid 10's without the spray.     We hope to have some track footage soon!
