Greetings all, met up with the crew from V8TV at the Car Craft Summer Nationals in Minnesota this past weekend, figured I'd swing through here and take a look.  I was competing in the Real Street Eliminator competition at the CC event with my '04 Mustang Cobra.

Have had the car for right around 3 years now, found it with 3,000 miles on it sitting in a little used car lot in eastern Indiana.

Basic bolt on mods, 3.1" BilletFlow upper pulley, 6" Metco crank pulley, JLT Cold Air intake, Pro-5.0 shifter, MRT Catted H-pipe, Magnaflow Catback.  Stock exhaust manifolds and everything about the engine itself is stock.  Suspension has been slightly modified with UPR full length subframe connectors.  And the brakes were upgraded to use Kinetics Cross drilled and slotted rotors and Evolution Performance PowerStop pads.   For the track we also added in a Hurst Roll Control, and a set of 315x17 Nitto 555r DRs out back.  MOST of the work was done myself or with the help of a buddy in his or my garage, exceptions being the brakeline mods for the Roll Control and the SCT custom tune... these were handled by DB Performance in Rogers, MN.

The car is most easily recognized by the Competition Orange paint (1 of 281 direct from Ford) and the X-treme Autobody and Paint Flame Job (Wyoming, MN).

Anyway, it's enough to post up a 502rwhp/557rwtq set of numbers on the Data Dynamics dyno at DB Performance, which translated to a 444rwhp, 508rwtq on the portable dyno that was at the Car Craft event.

The car is just awesome to drive in a straight line or the twisties.

I don't get to the 1/4 mile track much, but to date have posted a best of 12.2 @ 117.9
I make no excuses, I'm still learning to launch this ape.

Hey Rod,

It was cool to meet you at the Summer Nats.    We'll be posting the video of your car soon.   I really like the look of the car as much as its performance.   It's a monster!     Post up a pic if you've got one!

Welcome to the board!

Man, that's a great looking car.   Normally I'm not big on flames on late model stuff, but the pearl orange / red combo really makes it stand out.    Plus it's not all show.   Great job.

Never would have got the paint job if it wasn't for the "go" part of it.

Had the stock exhaust up in the corner of the garage.  Was packing the car/truck for a trip to the track and heard something shift in the garage.  Turned around just in time to watch the exhaust fall down right across the drivers side front fender crease.... and proceed to scratch all the way down the car.

I "threw" the exhaust into the corner, hopped into the car and ran it at the track anyway.

About 2 months later a flamed Comp O was born.

Nice.   Funny how that kind of stuff works out!     It's another case of "Might As Well Syndrome!"   This time, it's all for the better!

Hey Kevin, any thoughts on when this video may be done ?
Car Craft posted their results in the Jan 2010 rag, I ended up 5th overall after all was said and done.
4th on the dyno, 4th on the autocross and 3rd in the launch box.

The Silver Viper was the overall winner followed by the 3 Vettes that were "mysteriously" added the day of the event.

Hey Rod -

We finished that video a long time ago, and CarCraft.com was supposed to be playing them.    I'm checking to see if we have the rights to show 'em here, too.
