It seems the automakers think it's time to start selling wagons again! Unfortunately, we'll never see the return of the big-block cruisers like the one in the beginning of this video, but maybe a CTS-V wagon would be cool!

This super-cool 1941 Willys is a throwback to the straight-axle gasser days, only it's big-block Chevy powered and cleaner than most.

We saw this perfectly stock appearing Packard at the Somernites Power Cruise and didn't think much of it, outside of it being a very nice old car. However, one peek under the hood revealed the tell-tale engine cover of a Corvette LS3 and our interest was piqued. Turns out this car has lots of high-tech hot rodding hiding under its deco-slick envelope.

Check out these killer traditional rods we saw in Somerset, Kentucky while covering the Somernites Cruise. We've got a video feature coming on the 1940 Ford truck coming soon... would you believe it's actualy on a modern chassis and competes in autocross events? It's a very cool truck that looks like it is about to fall apart, but is hiding all kinds of cool tricks. It's not really a Hemi, but it sure looks like one.

Feb. 29, 2008 - GM Holden today marked the diamond anniversary of its first all
Australian car by unveiling a stunning two-door performance
thoroughbred called Coupe 60.
Coupe 60
celebrates the six decades since GM Holden built the 48-215 at its
Fishermans Bend plant in Port Melbourne, Victoria, and provides a
glimpse of Holden’s future directions in design, engineering and
emerging engine technologies. Exemplifying sports luxury, Coupe 60
is a pillarless concept car that explores the limits of Holden’s
current rear-wheel drive capabilities, combining racing looks and
technology into a road going sportscar experience. Its
sophisticated appearance is delivered through simple and powerful
design, highlighted by the pillarless construction and V8 supercar
inspired cockpit layout and side-exiting chambered exhaust system with
billet alloy tips.

The very first Volvo car, the ÖV4 (later nicknamed Jakob) was built in
1927. Hot Rod maker Leif Tufvesson documented the original in detail
before building his personal interpretation of the ÖV4, which became
Hot Rod Jakob. The body of the classic vehicle has been built by hand
from raw aluminium panels that were bent into their final shape using a
hammer and English wheel, as it was done in the prototype workshop back
in the 1920s. Leif Tufvesson has already won awards such as "Hot Rod of
the Year" and "Most Innovative Car" in the U.S.
After being unveiled at the Volvo Museum in Göteborg in February 2008,
Hot Rod Jakob will be exhibited at the four Nordic winners of Volvo
Best Partner 2007 before being presented at the 2008 SEMA show in Las
Vegas in the USA in November this year.
