Hybrid-Powered Muscle Cars?
User Rating: / 2

Read more...Someone asked us about the possibility of swapping in a new GM SUV Hybrid powertrain into an American Musclecar.     We were very intrigued with the idea of making decent power, getting awesome fuel economy, and having a "green" car no matter what the color.   As a research project, we borrowed a new Cadillac Escalade Hybrid SUV to see how the system drove, and to learn about the packaging.     Watch the video to see our conclusions.

Hopping Up a Ford GT
User Rating: / 4

Read more... There are those who think the 2006 Ford GT is fast enough from the factory.    Of course, we're firm believers in maximizing performance, so we visited our buddies at GRC Performance while they installed an upgraded supercharger pulley, exhaust, and air filters to this modern supercar.   The power gains are remarkable, and the car retains it's modern drivability.

This is a 2 part video, so be sure to watch after the Royal Purple break for the dyno results!

Grant wheel install on ’67 Camaro
User Rating: / 2

Read more... Visual upgrade for your Chevy

By Jim McGowan

The steering wheel and dashboard are the two items in your Chevy that you see constantly while driving. They just won’t get out of your way! Since you’re the captive audience of these parts, they should look as cool as possible. We followed a Grant Products steering wheel upgrade, being installed in a restomod ’67 Camaro convertible. The owner always envied the later model factory Rosewood steering wheel, which was optionally available, and decided to find an attractive substitute. This new three-spoke beauty (#973, 14.5-inch diameter, 3-inch dish)) from Grant Products was the choice. It replicates the style and design of the original, and provides a great look and feel while cruising.

How to Paint Flames
User Rating: / 12

Read more... Painting flames looks easy when it’s done by a pro, and we stopped in at The Custom Shop in Flanagan, IL, for a lesson in shooting fire on a 1964 Ford Galaxie Pro Street car.   This car was not only getting bathed in yellow-orange-red flames, but Wargo also intertwined the flames around airbrushed factory-style trim on the car, complete with shadows and highlights to appear as realistic as possible.

Late Model Mustang Suspension Upgrades
User Rating: / 2
Read more... New Mustangs are great cars to modify, because it doesn't take a lot of parts or tuning to make them scream.   This 2006 Mango Mustang GT has already been treated to a Kenne Bell supercharger, upgraded brakes, wheels, and tires, but it still needed some help in the suspension.  We install a set of newly-avaialable Bilstein shocks to make this Mustang ride and handle much better than stock.
