And when you did it, you basically had yourself a temperamental race-only motor that was only good for 1/4 mile passes.  Thanks to the advancement of modern power parts, you can now have an engine that makes the big magic number and can still be driven every day.

Read more... We’re doing some more work on our ’62 Buick Electra ragtop. This time, we’re upgrading the brakes from the original aluminum drum brake system to a more modern and better performing disc brake system.  We found out how to retrofit modern disc brakes using parts-store components.  The best part is that this swap is easy on the wallet!
