You don't have time for an all day detail job. Check out our recommendations for a quick detail in less than an hour.

Detailing your ride can take all day if you let it, but we've come up with a few simple and quick tips to make this job go fast.

First, give the car a good wash. We do not use the old bucket anymore. Rinse the dust off, and then go to town.

For speed's sake, try a hose-mounted foam gun like this one from Gilmour. Load the cup with soap, attach to the hose, and get ready to shoot suds all over the place. Use good quality car wash soap, and scrub with a mitt. You will be done in no time.

Next, it is time for a quick clay-bar treatment. This is a job that usually takes hours, but here is the trick... use the foam gun again! Save the quick detail spray that comes with the clay bar kit, and use the car wash suds to lube the clay bar.

Gently rub the clay bar over the car's surface to pick up all the sticky fallout that get stuck all over the surface of the car. You can probably do the whole car in less than 15 minutes this way! If you need to, re-soap the car to wash off any remaining clay. Now dry the car with a drying device like the Absorber or other synthetic chamois.

We like clean wheels and tires, so we are using Mothers All-Wheel spray-on cleaner and a $2.00 nylon brush. Spray it on, brush it quickly, and hose it off. Done deal.

We usually dress the tires with some protectant, but we do not like the foamy spray-on goo flying all over the place when we drive away. Hence, Meguirar’s Endurance Gel. Squirt the grape-smelling gel onto the foam pad, rub it on, and your tires will thank you in the sun without flinging the sauce.

Finally, we do a quickie wax job using the Waxmaster
and some Mothers Pure Carnauba Wax. A little dab will do you on the Waxmaster’s orbital pad. Apply it with the Waxmaster’s orbital buzzing action, wait a few, and hand-buff it off with a microfiber towel.

Washed, clayed, detailed, and waxed all in less than an hour!
