Steve Strope of Pure Vision Design is well underway transforming a stock ’68 Dodge Charger into a NASCAR-esque road terror for owner George Poteet.
Although still in the beginning bodywork phase, Strope has a definite plan for the finished product… something that helps ensure the timely completion of all Strope projects. We got an early look at this racecar for the street.
The exterior treatment consists of a “refrigerator white” paint scheme with an ox blood red stripe around the tail, something that Strope calls “Racey… very racey!” Wheels are Budnik Muroc II’s, and you can bet the Tires are gonna be huge. Wilwood 15” rotors will haul this monster down from its high-speed runs at Bonneville or the Silver State Classic Challenge.
Other race-car tricks include an interior devoid of everything but the necessities. Strope plans to coat the whole interior with a spray-on bed liner to deaden sound and reduce heat while giving a no-frills appearance inside.
The 1968 Dodge Charger owned by George Poteet is intended to be a Race car for the street, and the 472 cubic-inch Hemi V8 will certainly help.
