If you were lucky enough to have some seat time in one of the original Baldwin Motion Camaros, you know all about the performance guarantee and how these cars delivered on their promise. You see, Motion Performance promised solid mid 11-second timeslips at 120mph for their specially built Camaros, and the cars had no problem running the numbers.

And now the cars are back.

Starting with orignal 1969 Camaros - not the new "crate" versions - the team who brought you the originals are making new versions of the Baldwin-Motion 540 Camaro SuperCoupe in conjunction with Time Machines, Inc. Designed by Kris Horton, the new cars feature enhanced body lines, all-steel construction, and a slightly stretched nose to enhance the already aggressive looks of the 1969 Camaro.

The interior is as custom as the body, with a custom formed steel dash and a full array of gauges. The red car shown was photographed at the Sony Explod booth at the SEMA 2005 show, and the stereo is worthy of a center stage spot at any show.

The real attraction is under the hood, where a 540 cubic inch all aluminum 700+ horsepower big block Chevy engine awaits the signal to go like hell. It's got all the goodies... H-beam rods, 10.5:1 compression, roller cam, and a bitchin' Cross-Ram fuel injection system custom-built by Jim Kinsler. Add a custom Tremec TKO 5-speed and a Dana 44 rear axle, and it's go time.

This Camaro is more than just a rowdy motor, as the entire suspension and brake system have been tuned up as well. A rigid "backbone" type tubular frame ties everything together... gone are the wishy-washy days of a seperate subframe. Monster 14-inch Baer Claw brakes with a 6-pack of pistons in each caliper peer out from behind the Bonspeed wheels. A custom 4-wheel independant suspension system keeps the SuperCoupe glued to the pavement.

Even with all the racecar speed parts, they've kept the interior civilized for the one who drops the near half-mil on this red rocket. Once this one is auctioned off at Barrett Jackson, there will be 11 more made, so there's no need to cry. Sign up at The Official Baldwin Motion website.
