The Arizona car enjoyed a desert life so it’s wearing its original sheet metal. The gold Goat is powered by a Jim Butler built Pontiac 455 featuring ported iron heads a roller cam shaft, Edelbrock intake manifold, Hooker Super Comp headers and is topped by a Holley 850 double pumper carburetor which combine for 523 horsepower on the dyno.
The interior is a combination of stock and restored pieces that keep true to the original design. The front suspension has been recently upgraded with an AGR 12:1 quick ratio power steering box, lowered springs and Bilstien shock absorbers. The emphasis is on handling, so a Helwig sway bar was installed to minimize body roll, and braking is handled by big SSBC brakes and a Hydratech Hydroboost brake booster for added squeeze. The rear suspension consists of a Moser rear axle assembly boxed lower control arms, Bilstien shocks, and another Helwig sway bar. The custom 3-inch exhaust exits through factory style stainless splitters tucked into the quarter panels. The look is completed with a set of Oasis Rebel wheels which are a 17-inch chrome plated aluminum design wrapped in BF Goodrich G-Force TA tires. Even with a turbo 400 transmission and 308 rear gears, this 523 horse power Pontiac has the guts to spin the big 275/40/ZR17 rear tires all day long.
