Hi,
I have a 79' Trans Am (403 olds) and a 90' Mustang (5.0). I want to confirm/change the timing and notice that there are digital advanced timing guns available for use.
I've used a standard timing gun before just wondering about these advanced timing guns. I'm researching on how to set total timing on my TA so I assume the advanced timing gun will help.
Thanks in advance.

Hello JV,
Welcome to the board!
Great question on how to use the dial-back timing light. Basically, the adjustment on the light allows you to see the mount of timing advance at any RPM regardless of how broad the timing marks are on your engine.
If you can hang on a couple days, we'll shoot a how-to video and share it here. Great suggestion!
Thanks!
